Lambda Divers help GLBT health groups

Lambda Divers, a not-for-profit social organization that works to promote scuba diving among the gay community, donated a total of $5,700 to three organizations that provide health-related services to metropolitan Washington and Baltimore’s GLBT community, at this year’s Capital Pride. The proceeds were raised by Lambda Divers’ participation in Diving for Life (DFL), the not-for-profit organization that sponsors the International Gay and Lesbian SCUBA Jamboree.

According to Lambda Divers, the group donated $2,600 to Whitman-Walker Clinic; $1,700 to the Mautner Project; and $1,500 to Moveable Feast, an organization that provides free meals and groceries to people living with HIV/AIDS and other life-challenging illnesses in Baltimore and other parts of Maryland’s Eastern Shore. In the past 15 years, Lambda Divers has donated a total of $127,000 to GLBT health organizations.
