“It’s a great way for everyone to participate in World AIDS Day,” says Andrea Rigoli of Pediatric Care, organizer of the campaign. “Everybody is always looking for an excuse to buy a cupcake. I’m happy to give them an excuse. I love their cupcakes. It’s a guilty pleasure.”
With the announcement of the campaign Oct. 23, Rigoli says about 30 dozen cupcakes have already been ordered. Hosts of cupcake parties are encouraged to send photos of their parties, with the particular cupcakes visible, to Rigoli via e-mail to be entered into a drawing for a night at the Mandarin Oriental in D.C.
