At the Human Rights Campaign’s National Dinner, held Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010 at the Washington, DC Convention Center, the legendary Bette Midler presented pop star Pink with the organization’s Ally for Equality Award. Introducing Pink, Midler said, “Wherever she appears, Pink expresses her point of view — one of fairness, kindness, tolerance and equality. She sets an example for all of us knowing that none of us are human until each and every one of us is recognized fully as a human being.”

“We all want to be loved, accepted and understood — and unfortunately the human race hasn’t figured this out yet,” Pink said in her acceptance speech. “But that’s where we thank the HRC for helping us along.”
