Michelle Benecke of Servicemembers Legal Defense Network told a crowd of supporters that ”Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell is a lie.” She appeared alongside Aubrey Sarvis, Sergeant Jared Towner and others to protest the failure of the US Senate to repeal the continued ban against gay and lesbian servicemembers.

A dismal vote held yesterday, Thursday December 9, only received 57 votes to repeal. It is widely understood that three more would be needed to break a Republican filibuster of the measure.
