Hail Caesars: New rooms, new show for Las Vegas

Elton-John.jpgWorld-renowned singer and gay-icon Elton John is no stranger to Las Vegas. And for the next three years, John will be in residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace.

The new show, “The Million Dollar Piano,” is currently running through Oct. 23, and additional dates will be announced soon. At the centerpiece of John’s performance is the show’s namesake piano, an engineering marvel featuring more than 68 LED video screens created by Yamaha.

In April 2009, John completed a highly successful five-year residency at Caesars Palace with the critically acclaimed “The Red Piano.” Originally booked for 75 shows over the course of a three-year run, audience demand for “The Red Piano” was so overwhelming the engagement was extended for a total of 241 shows over a five-year period.

Octavious_King_Rm.jpgThe return of Elton John is not the only new thing at Caesars Palace. Last month, Caesars debuted its new Octavius Tower. Part of a $860 million expansion, the resort’s sixth tower has 668 rooms, starting at 550 square feet, including 60 suites and six luxury villas. It also offers a private entrance, separate hotel lobby and direct access to the Garden of the Gods pool oasis and gardens.

Rooms at the Octavius Tower are on sale now, for guest arrivals beginning Jan. 2, 2012.

Caesars Palace is a gay-friendly TAG Approved property. Its parent company, Caesars Entertainment is a member of the International Gay and Lesbian Travel Association and received a perfect 100 rating on HRC’s 2011 Corporate Equality Index.
