Mitt Romney makes his view crystal clear on gay marriage (as though he needed to)

“No, actually, I think at the time the Constitution was written it was pretty clear that marriage is between a man and a woman. And I don’t believe the Supreme Court has changed that.

Mitt Romney responds to Bob Garon, a 63-year-old gay military veteran and New Hampshire resident, who asked the candidate whether he supported repeal of New Hampshire’s gay marriage law. Romney indicated he supported repeal of the law, to which Garon replied, “It’s good to know how you feel, that you do not believe everyone is entitled to their constitutional rights,” leading Romney to make the above comment.

Garon later told MSNBC, “I didn’t expect the answer that I got — I thought he’d be a little more diplomatic in his answer. . . . What I didn’t expect from Mr. Romney is how confrontational he was and argumentative.” (Huffington Post)
