GLOE’s 5th Annual Queer Purim Party

The DC JCC’s Kurlander Program for Gay & Lesbian Outreach and Engagement presents its fifth annual Purim party, “Masquerade & Mischief,” with a repeat performance by the soon-to-retire DC Cowboys, a “Purim schpiel” and music by DJ jame’ foks. Purim celebrates the Jews who were spared execution by Persian leader Haman in biblical times. It calls for dressing up — “especially drag” — and drinking a lot. Those in costume enjoy an open bar with beer, wine and champagne cocktails. There will also be food. This Saturday, March 3, from 8:30 p.m. to 12 a.m. Washington, D.C.’s Jewish Community Center, 1529 16th St. NW. Tickets are $20 in advance or $30 at the door. Call 202-518-9400 or visit washingtondcjcc.org.
