Animal Collective at Merriweather

Animal+Collective

The little ensemble Animal Collective, originally from Baltimore but now spread out around the world, years ago became the big kahuna in the indie-rock universe, merging noise-pop with African polyrhythms, psychedelic sounds and other non-melodic musical eccentricities. The band closes out the season at the local venue that became the namesake for its last studio album, all as part of a tour promoting its weird, wild, just-released new set, Centipede Hz. Tuesday, Oct. 2. Doors at 6:30 p.m. Merriweather Post Pavilion, 10475 Little Patuxent Parkway, Columbia, Md. Tickets are $30 to $45. Call 800-551-SEAT or visit merriweathermusic.com.
