Winter savings on a bite of the Big Apple

Tourists flock to New York City for their holiday shopping and New Year celebrations but come January and February the Big Apple’s appeal takes a slight dip. This is good news for gay travelers seeking bargains.

The Out NYC, a self described “straight-friendly urban resort” located in the hip and gay-centric Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood, is offering deep winter discounts:

  • Save 15% on a one- or two-night stay
  • Save 20% on a three- or four-night stay
  • Save 25% on a stay of five nights or longer

For gay fans of the Great White Way might want to consider heading to New York City, between Jan. 22 and Feb. 10. During this period, many Broadway and off-Broadway shows are offering two-for-one tickets.

Amtrak, which has been proactively marketing to gay travelers, has a number of discount programs for travel to New York City.  

SmartFares are made available on select routes for purchase each Tuesday through Friday. The SmartFares save travelers 25% on one-way coach and are good for one to two weeks after booking. In addition, riders can also save 25% off the lowest available fares one Northeast Regional service when tickets are booked 14 days in advance.
