Russian video claims gay parents rape their adopted children

“So this [is] why, gays especially, are happy for children to be adopted by gays. They need children to satisfy their sexual desire”

US blogger John Aravosis has posted a video, the origin of which is unknown, that he claims was sent to him by a civil rights advocate in Russia to highlight the levels of hatred and abuse being aimed at LGBT citizens in the country. Translated into English, the video bases the majority of its “facts” on findings from a controversial and highly criticized study from American researcher Mark Regnerus.

Among those facts?

  • “One in three children being raised by same-sex couples were needed by their adopted parents for sex”
  • “One fourth of children being raised by same-sex parents showed a tendency toward suicide and had contracted venereal diseases”
  • “50% of pedophiles are gay”
  • “According to leading scientists… sexual orientation can be treated more easily than alcoholism”

It’s an appalling, abhorrent video, which seeks to demonize and destroy any notion that gay couples can feel love, and states that homosexuality is nothing more than a sexual perversion.

Aravosis wrote, as a reason for releasing the video, that “One thing we have learned, repeatedly, in the overall LGBT civil rights effort, but also specifically in our work against Russia’s anti-gay crackdown, is that the best way to neutralize anti-gay hate is by ‘exposing’ their hate.”
