British Airways takes the award for most awesome billboard

We’ve all seen them — littering highways, buildings and a myriad of other places as we navigate daily life. Billboards are just an accepted part of modern life. What we haven’t seen, however, is a billboard as incredible as the one British Airways have installed in London’s Piccadilly Circus.

Using proprietary surveillance technology that tracks nearby British Airways aircraft, the screen updates to display a child pointing at the plane as it navigates past the billboard. On-screen text shows flight numbers, flight origin or destination and a custom message to those staring up at the huge display. Of course, it also advertises, offering the lowest fare for the plane route or tempting those braving the cold British winter with the temperature in sunnier climes.

All-in-all, the #lookup campaign could be one of the best we’ve seen — it’s certainly among the coolest.
