–The findings of a Reuters/Ipsos poll, conducted in April. Pollsters queried 567 Republicans, 248 independents, and 751 Democrats, aged 18 and over.

As a whole, 68 percent of Americans would attend a same-sex wedding. Among Democrats, 80 percent would attend, while 70 percent of independents would.

The results echo statements from several Republican presidential candidates. Senator Marco Rubio is opposed to same-sex marriage, but told Fusion last month that he would attend the marriage of a loved one. “I’m not going to hurt them simply because I disagree with a choice they’ve made,” he said.

Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush also wouldn’t rule out attending a same-sex wedding. “I haven’t — that’s not to say I wouldn’t,” he told reporters in Puerto Rico this week. Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker has attended the wedding reception of a gay couple, but also believes that marriage is between a man and a woman.
