OMG! Hamilton is coming to the Kennedy Center!

Tony-nominee Hamilton's national tour slated for the 2017-2018 season.

hamilton16n-6-webOkay, everybody, let’s all take a deep breath and let out a shriek of ecstatic thespian-going joy….

The Kennedy Center just announced that the national tour of the Broadway musical Hamilton will be coming to the Kennedy Center! Of course, you have to wait till the 2017-2018 season to see it, but isn’t just knowing it’s on the way pleasure enough? Information regarding the actual dates and how to purchase group and single tickets will be announced at a later date.

BUT….

The best way to guarantee tickets to Hamilton is to purchase a season subscription for the 2016-2017 theater season. New or renewing subscribers of the 2016–2017 theater season will be first in line for seats in the 2017–2018 Broadway series, which, of course, includes tickets to Hamilton.

2016-2017 theater subscriptions will be available for purchase starting next Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at 10 a.m. ET at kennedy-center.org/subscribe. You should probably start autodialing this very minute.

In case you’ve been residing restfully under a rock, Hamilton tells the story of Alexander Hamilton, our nation’s first Treasury Secretary and the guy on the $10 bill. That’s right, you look at him every single day. The show’s score, written by Lin-Manuel Miranda, fuses hip-hop, jazz, blues, rap, R&B, and razzle-dazzle Broadway, making Hamilton “the story of America then, as told by America now.” It’s the winner of the 2016 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and was recently nominated for a record breaking 16 Tony Award nominations, including Best Musical, which it will win because what else is going to win? I mean, we adored Bright Star, but c’mon….

For more information, visit the Kennedy Center website, stop by the Kennedy Center box office in person (yes, you can really still do that), or call (202) 467-4600 or (800) 444-1324 and start saving your Hamiltons now….
