Poll: Should the Log Cabin Republicans endorse Trump?
LCR finds itself between a rock and a hard place when it comes to The Donald
The Log Cabin Republicans have been sending around a membership drive email with a clever hook, “Should Log Cabin Republicans endorse Donald Trump for President of the United States?”
“It’s a simple question — with major implications,” reads the email. “So…should we?
The email then goes to point out that “ONLY dues-paying members of our national organization will be able to share their individual opinions directly with our National Board of Directors. In a matter of a mere few days, Log Cabin Republicans will be sending our Quadrennial Survey to ALL members of LCR National — and ONLY members of LCR National! … Become a Member or Trustee TODAY to ensure your vote is counted in advance of our National Board of Directors meeting when we will consider whether or not to put our name behind the Republican Party’s presidential nominee.”
While the answer might seem cut and dry, it’s not. The group finds itself between a rock and a hard place with Trump (though, admittedly, it’d be an even harder place were Cruz or Rubio leading the GOP charge). We thought their question an interesting one, so we’re posing to the general public as well — and you don’t have to become a member of LCR for your answer to count.
