S'mores and new friends are on the agenda for the first National Jewish LGBT Camp Weekend at the Capital Retreat Center in Waynesboro, Pa., Friday, June 17 to Sunday, June 19, 2011.
Singles, couples and families are invited to be part of the weekend of activities and empowerment, and it is open to all non-Jewish friends, supports and allies of the Jewish LGBT community.
In operation since 1987, Capital Retreat Center is located between two lakes and surrounded by hiking trails; amenities include a heated pool, a ropes course and zip lines, an Arts and Theatre Center and many recreational spaces for tennis, basketball, volleyball, hockey and soccer.
Guests may choose from traditional cabins or motel style lodge rooms. Accommodations are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and linens and towels are provided for all guests. Meals are also included, and Capital Retreat Center is a Glatt Kosher facility under the supervision of STAR-K.
