Back in May we reported on Tourisme Montreal's annual Queer of the Year 2011 contest, an annual competition to promote Montreal as a gay-friendly destination. Well, the six finalists are now in hot and heavy competition -- and among them is one of D.C.'s own: Tim Warguleski.

You can (and should) vote for Tim (or any of the finalists, to be completely honest) every day by Liking the Queer of the Year Facebook page and then following the voting instructions. There are also photos and daily videos to keep things fresh.

The contest is now underway, so go like that page now and get voting. It all ends on Sunday. The Queer of the Year winner receives $5,000 (Canadian, which these days in American is probably like worth $2.15), plus flights and accommodation to return to Montreal for a weekend getaway after the competition.

Full disclaimer: We know Tim. He's the boyfriend of Dylan Comstock, who works with us here at the magazine. Still, even if we didn't know Tim, we'd say he certainly seems Queer enough to us to be crowned Canada's Queer of the Year. After all, shouldn't an American -- and one from Washington, D.C. at that -- hold the title? We think so.

We've included Tim's day 1 video below:
