The nice folks at Microsoft's Xbox division have finally dropped the launch date for the company's Xbox One games console. Starting November 22, those living in the US, Canada, the UK, Ireland, Austria, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Mexico, Brazil, Australia and New Zealand can get their hands on the One for $499, with similar pricing in other markets.

That admittedly steep asking price will get you the console, one controller, Kinect 2.0, a wired headset and the usual array of video cables. There are also exclusive "Day One" consoles available at launch, which grant purchasers a unique achievement and a special insignia on the controller.  In addition, Microsoft has also made one last change to the internals, bumping the CPU from 1.6GHz to 1.75Ghz -- which was very nice of them.

Just to remind ourselves, the PS4 is launching November 15 in the US for $399 -- which means we could be in for a pretty bloody war this Fall. Excellent.
