No charges against male couple married in Virginia

''They swore an oath when they made the application, but 'bride' and 'groom' are not defined in the law of Virginia.... Whether they were intending to deceive or not is not something we can get into their minds on." He added that "changes have been made to prevent that problem from happening again.''

Jack Fitzpatrick, spokesman for Newport News Commonwealth Attorney, Howard E. Gwynn, who announced that no charges will be filed against Justin McCain and Antonio Blount who were officially married in Virginia because McCain wore feminine clothing to the courthouse and clerks did not notice that his driver's license had an "M" for male. Circuit Court Judge C. Peter Tench voided their marriage and ordered the couple to return any marriage documents. (Washington Post)
