At the time, Powell was strongly in-favor of DADT. The current Secretary of State, Admiral Mike Mullen, also appeard on the show and said that he will continue to carry out the law as it applies to DADT, but says that it is clear that President Barack Obama feels that, at least for now, the policy needs to be carried out in ''the most humane way possible.''
