Student, now grown, defends past of Obama's Safe Schools appointee; proves he was not underage

''In 1988, I had taken a bus home for the weekend, and on the return trip met someone who was also gay. The next day, I had a conversation with Mr. Jennings about it. I had no sexual contact with anybody at the time, though I was entirely legally free to do so. I was a 16-year-old going through something most of us have experienced: adolescence.''

"Brewster" explaining to CNN that Republicans are wrong to attack Kevin Jennings, a gay man who has been appointed by President Barack Obama as the head of Safe and Drug Free Schools at the US Department of Education. Jennings was introduced to Brewster 20 years ago and after a conversation, says he mentioned Brewster that he should know to use a condom. Jennings says at the time he was a closeted gay man and a person close to him had just died from AIDS-related complications. CNN says Brewster provided them ID that shows he was 16 at the time, not 15 as conservative media critics have alleged. (CNN)
