The jury is still out on the different types of muscle fibers and what exactly they accomplish in the body. However, it doesn't hurt to change your training a bit to take advantage of a possible physiological effect. Recently, a pilot study (so remember to take it with a strong pinch of salt) examined the results of taking ATP in 400mg doses orally. The results? Increased muscle mass, size, and performance. Immediately following rugby practice last week, all I could think about was taking an ice bath followed by a hot shower. That's suppose to help you recover, right?
