New Jersey State Superior Court Judge Mary Jacobson ruling favorably in the case of two lesbians, La Kia and Kinyati Hammond, who were married in Canada in 2004 but were seeking a divorce in New Jersey. The judge stated, though, that the New Jersey does not have to recognize same-sex marriages in other contexts.
