Joe Dolce, executive director of the Dot Gay Alliance, which plans to spend as much as $400K to create a top-level domain for sites of gay interest. However, a German businessman, Alexander Schubert, who is reportedly a heterosexual, has also begun the process of registering the same top-level domain with ICANN. All of which raises some interesting questions about the purpose of .gay site names, and control of the registration process. (New York Times)
