''And Jason is a part of our heart. We all knew that Jason wanted to be a pediatrician. There was never a question of whether or not he was going to make it. Some children we have to pray over a lot -- pray for grades that they pass, but we never worried about that with Jason.''

Starletta Jackson, Principal of Vivien T. Thomas Medical Arts Academy in Baltimore, where Jason Mattison attended school. The gay 15-year-old, was viciously gagged, raped, and murdered -- stabbed in the head and neck. Police have arrested and received a confession from a family associate, Dante Parrish, et. (Baltimore Sun)

''Jason didn't deserve this and there's nothing that he could have done that made somebody that mad that they had to do that to him.''

''I haven't cried so much this entire life. My grandson hollering for help and there is nobody there to help him.... I accepted his sexual preferences. But I told him, 'You're young and don't understand life.' I told him, 'Plenty of young women would love to be with you.' He said he likes boys. Young people don't like to listen to adults, but I told him I'm not going to push him away.''

Wanda Williams, grandmother of Jason Mattison, a gay 15-year-old who was murdered in Baltimore recently. The suspect was Dante Parrish, 35, a man known to his family who had been released earlier this year from serving time for another killing 10 years ago. Police say Parrish has confessed to the horrific murder. (Baltimore Sun)
