''Mr. Griffin states that when he went to confront Mr. Belton about the two sexual assaults, he felt that Mr. Belton was not in any way forgiving and that he did not show or express any type of feeling that what had taken place was a mistake.''
Taken from court documents in the case of Michael Griffin, a 25-year-old ex-marine, who stabbed to death Don Belton, 53. A joyful diary entry left by Belton about "Michael" coming into his life, coupled with an address found for "Griffin," led police to the home of the Iraq war vet. A search of Griffins home turned up what they say is the murder weapon -- a very large knife. According to authorities Griffin has confessed to stabbing Belton, but says he is not guilty on the grounds that Belton sexually assaulted him, twice. (ABC News)
''Don Belton was a literary pathblazer and one of the important black gay writers to emerge in the 1980s. His 1986 novel Almost Midnight heralded a wave of works to come. Kind, friendly, and very smart all come to mind when I think of Don.''
John Keene, an associate professor of English and black studies, describing the work of Don Belton to Rod 2.0. (Rod 2.0)
