''This isn't a civil rights issue. [Homosexuality] is a choice in behavior and as a Christian organization we don't believe this is a right, it is a sin against Jesus Christ.''
Bryan English, who the Iowa Independent describes as the Director of Communications for the Iowa Family Policy Center. The organization says it is a non-profit that, according to it's own website, campaigns through pastors to support opposition to same-sex marriage, to push for a vote to repeal Iowa's recently legalized same-sex marriages, and to denounce "special rights to those practicing distorted sexual behavior." The leader Chuck Hurley specifies in a video featured on their site, that they deal with "the homosexual agenda." The Iowa Independent finds that the IFPC received over $3 million in federal funds through the Healthy Marriage Initiative created by President George W. Bush and continued by President Barack Obama. The Independent's report was sparked by the work of a blogger at ChuckHurls.com. (Iowa Independent)
More can be found at Akopsa about this topic, including speculation that Iowa Family Policy Center may have altered an image of Barney Frank to show him smoking a cigarette, and then ran it along a headline that reads: "What's worse? Smoking or Sodomy?" (Akopsa.wordpress.com)
