''How dare her employee run out to my car, in front of everybody and say, 'You've got to give me the license back, we don't recognize same sex marriage,' out loud.''

Traci Turpin of Knoxville, TN talking about her marriage to another woman here in DC. Turpin says she had a problem with the Department of Motor Vehicles in her home state of Tennessee when she tried to update her driver's license to match her new name. After processing the request, a state worker ran after her and demanded the license be returned, even calling on a highway patrolmen to force her to do so. Gay and lesbian marriages held in the District are not legally recognized in most states or by the Federal government. (WUSA9)
