Comic-Con fanboys counterprotest Westboro Church's anti-gay fanatics

''This side is awesome. The other side, not so awesome. They infuriate me greatly to be that prejudiced, to be that vile towards other human beings.''

Gail Simone, writer for comic books that includes Birds of Prey and Wonder Woman, at the 2010 Comic-Con. She joined a crowd that that had gathered to mock a protest staged by the members of the infamous, anti-gay Westboro Baptist Church. Photos and video show fans had lots of things to say. One Star Trek fan holds a sign saying, "God Hates Jedi." And a Futurama fan dressed as Bender the robot, held a sign that said "Kill all Humans, while others had signs that said, "God Hates Slurm" and "All Glory to the Hypno-toad."  (Comics Alliance)
