''There were revelations aplenty; Kieran Culkin revealed that, to get Culkin over his nerves about making out with another guy on-screen, one day Wright ambushed Culkin with a surprise kiss.... Kieran Culkin steals the show. I doubt this will come as a surprise to anyone, but Kieran Culkin is amazing as Scott's roommate Wallace Wells, whose ability to meddle in Scott's affairs borders on the mystical. Plus, his rapport with Scott's sister Stacey is a thing of beauty.''
Lauren Davis of io9 writing her impressions of the "Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World,'' a new movie, which had a surprise premiere at this week's Comic-Con. Kieran Culkin plays Wallace, the "cool gay roommate," in this movie (due out in August). He is also the younger brother of actor Macauly Culkin (who played the gay lead character in the film ''Monster''). UK director Edgar Wright is best known for his work with Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. And "Scott Pilgrim" is an adaptation of a manga-inspired comic book series, mixing in heavy doses of video game visuals with its storyline. Michael Cerra stars as the title character who it seems must "defeat the seven evil exes" of Ramona, a girl he's fallen in love with. (io9)
''With a cast of standouts, it was surprising to see that there were stars that shone just a little brighter than the rest. First of those was Kieran Culkin. He completely stole every scene he was in. He [plays] Wallace, Scott’s Gay roomate and every time he’s on screen, you’re guaranteed a laugh.''

''Everyone from his younger, scandalized sister (Anna Kendrick) and weirdly gay roommate (Kieran Culkin) -- weird not because he is gay but because Scott chooses to sleep in the same bed with him and "nothing" is going on -- to fellow band members (Mark Webber and Alison Pill) wonders about that 17-year-old, Knives Chau (Ellen Wong), in his life.''
Kirk Honeycutt of The Hollywood Reporter, giving "Scott Pilgrim'' a less than stellar review, calling it ''juvenile'' and "limp.'' (HollywoodReporter.com)
