Sharon Blechinger, director of of Help Every Animal League, who is relaying the journey of Red, an orphan Pomeranian. Blechinger reportedly paid $1,165 for gender-reassignment surgery to ''prevent infection and to reduce risk of cancer.'' He is now classified as an ''altered male.''
