''We have seen the allegations and are moving quickly to understand the facts. This office has not and will not tolerate any activity of the sort alleged.... Once we have ascertained whether these claims are true, we will take the appropriate steps.''

Bronwyn Lance Chester, a spokesperson for Saxby Chambliss, the Republican US Senator from Georgia. The creator of the popular blog "Joe My God," Joe Jervis, says that a short threat was posted on his site: "All faggots must die.'' And by using the recorded IP address of the poster, he has traced the origin back to the area of Saxby Chambliss' headquarters in Atlanta. Actually, he says his source is relaying that Chambliss has unofficially confirmed that the post did originate there. Chambliss has a history of anti-gay votes according to OnTheIssues.
