''I felt like I was being asked to go back into the closet. And that's a terrifying place to be. My first reaction was absolute terror... [About returning to class,] Stoked. Really, really excited. Those kids are my joy.''
Seth Stambaugh, an Oregon teacher who says he had a brief conversation with a student who asked why he wasn't married. He says he told the boy that it was because he ''would choose to marry another man.'' The student's parent complained and Stambaugh was dismissed which put his ability to finish his Master's degree in jeopardy. Stambaugh said he has not yet received an apology, but will be returning to class now that the superintendant of Beaverton schools has recognized that his firing was an error. (KATU TV)
