''They’d rather get rid of all organizations rather than to allow this one to start? Wow,.... If she’s not going to allow any other clubs on campus then we have no ground to stand on.''

Paul Rodriguez, of the Gay-Straight Alliance at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, giving his reaction to the Caller Times about the local Flour Bluff Independent School District's decision to suspend and possibly remove all extra-curricular meetings from campuses. He says a student at Flour Bluff High School had gathered 500 signatures to petition the administration to approve the club. (Caller.com)

According to the CallerJulie Carbajal, superintendent of the school district, is saying there is no chance the district would approve of a proposed Gay-Straight Alliance, so they have already asked the Fellowship of Christian Athletes to meet off campus while their legal options are reviewed.

The Texas Tribune interviewed the executive director of Equality Texas, Chuck Smith, who said:

''But it's certainly setting the wrong tone and climate if you are trying to foster a safe campus, because now they are pitting the kids who are getting kicked off against the kids who are trying to form a gay-straight alliance''
