''We saw the app as another opportunity to reach the world -- to reach a larger demographic with our message.... And based on a small group of activists being very vocal about their disagreement with Exodus and its message, we fear that Apple will censor our ability to be able to get our message out.''

Jeff Buchanan, of Exodus International, trying to drum up interest and sympathy for his religious group that preaches that gay people can pray away their homosexuality. Here he tells the anti-gay Baptist Press about his group's free iPhone app that includes news, event dates, and video. The app appears to be targeted toward "Students." It includes a "Give" button. A couple of reviews left on iTunes by users who have rated the app with 1 star (the lowest possible rating). Whoever approved the app at the Apple App Store has determined that Exodus program is age-appropriate for children: "Rated 4+." It currently has an overall rating of 2 and 1/2 stars, and Buchanan is asking Christians to help improve the overall rating by awarding it 5 stars. (iTunes)
