Night Out at the Nationals is an event that shows the city how diverse our LGBT community truly is

Walking around the upper deck of the Nationals stadium on Tuesday night with friends at Team DC's Night out at the Nationals, a few thoughts struck me. First among them, that LGBT people must really love baseball. We were everywhere, thousands of us teeming along the stadium decks; lining up for hotdogs, hamburgers and beer; and cheering from the stands during those (unfortunately too few) moments when the Washington Nationals seemed they might eke out a win against the Tampa Bay Rays.

Team DC readies its 8th annual Night Out at the Nationals with Jealous, Parson, Polis, Gay Men's Chorus and Different Drummers

Time flies as enthusiastically as those errant fly balls, meaning it's time once again for Team DC'sNight Out at the Nationals. In its eighth year, the annual outing sees thousands of LGBT and allied baseball fans heading to Nationals Park to enjoy a game en masse. To add to the excitement, D.C.'s Different Drummers will perform in the stadium's plaza, and the Gay Men's Chorus of Washington, D.C., will sing the national anthem.
