Welcome to the 12th Annual Youth Pride Day! For over a decade we have been honored to host one of the few pride festivals dedicated to celebrating the dignity and courage of all young people in the nation. As you look across the field during Youth Pride Day you will see leaders, performers, educators, activists and youth all connected by the pride we take in fostering a community that provides for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning, and Ally youth empowerment.

As a volunteer organization it would not be possible for us to host this event without the overwhelming support of the individuals, organizations, and community sponsors who have donated time, money, and energy to create Youth Pride Day. We cannot say ''thank you'' enough. To the volunteers, performers, and speakers, your words, guidance and commitment are undeniably vital to this special event. And finally, to the community and to all who show up, you are who we are inspired by and who this day is truly dedicated to.

We hope you take this day as an opportunity not only to dance, learn, play games, listen to speakers, and watch performances but to also reflect on the inspiration young people provide each other and the community. We are proud to serve you and hope that you are proud of yourselves.

Who We Are

Youth Pride Alliance, now in its 12th year, was founded in 1996 by Christopher Dyer. Our primary function is the annual production of D.C.'s Youth Pride Day. As a small, all-volunteer run organization, we rely on the support of the community for our programs and events. In addition to Youth Pride Day, we also organize other events for Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning, and Ally youth throughout the year.

Mission Statement

The Youth Pride Alliance is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning, and Ally youth empowerment to encourage positive self-development and expression, as well as leadership, while bridging diverse communities and individuals to address issues of visibility, equality, and social justice. We are dedicated to celebrating the dignity and courage of all young people.
