John Singer Sargent, the preeminent American expatriate painter of the late 19th Century, is the focus of The Corcoran Gallery's “Sargent and the Sea,” gathering more than 80 paintings, watercolors and drawings depicting seascapes and coastal scenes from his early career in Europe.
