Julian Wachner directs The Washington Chorus in its third annual New Music for a New Age concert. This year's featured composer is Elena Ruehr, known for long lyrical lines and rhythmic drives, combined with cantata singing. The event features three major Ruehr works: Cricket, Spider, Bee, with text by Emily Dickinson, Gospel Cha-Cha, with text by Langston Hughes, and Averno, with text by Louise Glück.
