Talked about one of your Skype friends with someone else in your contacts lately? You should probably start to draft an apology letter -- or schedule a grovelling video chat -- as a number of users are reporting a rather serious bug in the popular service. After a June update, messages sent between users are being delivered to other contacts -- not only a serious privacy breach but also potentially very embarrassing depending on the content of said messages.
Skype has issued the following statement to press: "We are aware in rare circumstances IM’s between two contacts could be sent to an unintended third contact. We are rolling out a fix for this issue in the next few days and will notify our users to download an updated version of Skype."
For now, though, you should probably limit any gossiping to video chats -- or be a nicer person. But where's the fun in that?
