Anyone with even a passing interest in the rock musical Hedwig and the Angry Inch will find much to enjoy in Laura Nix’s lovingly detailed documentary about the rich history of the one-of-a-kind character created by John Cameron Mitchell and immortalized in both the long-running off-Broadway production and the 2001 film adaptation. Alas, Whether You Like It Or Not assumes more knowledge about the show and its Stephen Trask score than the uninitiated can bring to the table, so unless you’re on the Hedwig bandwagon by the time this program screens, it’s one you’ll do better to skip. — JP
