The National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce and Capital Pride First Annual Wine Tasting. Join the NGLCC, Capital Pride and the greater Washington DC GLBT community for a wine tasting social that will kick off the pride weekend and the NGLCC Business and Leadership Conference and dinner. Community Seminar on Same-Sex Marriage, Civil Unions and Domestic Partnership. Presented by the Lesbian Services Program of Whitman-Walker, the seminar will attempt to answer all practical and political questions about same-sex marriage and demystify the differences between marriage, civil unions and domestic partnerships and provide up-to-date information on the changing legal climate. I See the Lavender Floor through the Glass Ceiling: A Woman’s Guide to Making It In The Businessman’s World.

Presented by the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce. This NGLCC seminar features top female executives at America’s largest corporations explaining the steps to move up the corporate ladder while moving out of the closet. 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Call 202-661-3327.

Burgundy Crescent Volunteers’ “VoluPalooza," 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., rain or shine. Fuel up for the Capital Pride Parade that evening with a fundraiser for Burgundy Crescent Volunteers, DC’s LGBT volunteer organization. At Whole Foods Market, 1440 P Street NW, and featuring a Sidewalk Festival & BBQ. Proceeds donated to BCV. DJ Kennedy will spin the BBQ into “VoluPalooza”! Be sure to stop by to join in the fun (an entire meal is only $5). Menu includes Turkey Burgers, Gourmet Sausage, Grilled Portobello Mushroom Sandwiches, Grilled Corn-on-the-cob, and creampuffs. Annual Pride Parade. Marching through the streets of Northwest Washington, D.C. in the heart of Dupont Circle. Parade steps off at 6:30 p.m. See map for parade route.

Liquid Ladies of Pride. The official women’s kickoff dance party for 2004 at Apex. 9 p.m. $12 cover, with $5 benefiting Capital Pride.

8 Track Flashback Retro Tea Dance. Go back in time to the era of bellbottoms, break dancing and pet rocks as we celebrate everything retro — including the YMCA with resident DJ Jason Royce. Shake your groove thang immediately following parade. Following the tea dance, get up to speed with the music of today with DJ Jason Royce during Cobalt’s weekly Friskie! party. At Cobalt, 17th & R Streets NW. No cover until 10 p.m., $5 after.

D.C. Dyke March, Dupont Circle, 1 p.m. March through Dupont with a rally before the March and speakers following the March. The D.C. Dyke March is an annual march and rally strives to celebrate the unique identity of dykes within the larger queer community by radically and unapologetically raising dyke visibility, educating the public, allowing dyke voices to be heard, keeping our herstory alive and reclaiming queer territory.

LSF Video/Gaming Party, presented by Lambda Sci-Fi, 3 p.m., 1425 S Street NW. Bring your favorite Science Fiction/Fantasy/Horror movies, board/card/social games and munchies, finger food and non-alcoholic beverages to share.

N Street Village Open House and Community BBQ, presented by N Street Village and Whole Foods, noon, on N Street between 14th and Vermont NW. It’s a celebration of our diverse community! Come enjoy a summer barbecue, take a tour of N Street Village, savor the talents of local musicians, bid on dramatic art pieces in a silent auction and bring the kids along for fun activities just for them throughout the day!

Capital Pride Street Festival — Celebrating the 29th anniversary of Capital Pride, more than 200,000 people are expected to enjoy the festival on historic Pennsylvania Avenue with featured entertainers. Street festival opens to the public at 11:00 a.m. See site map for more information.
