Faith-based organization to hold entertaining fundraiser for HIV/AIDS education and services

Dancing, cocktails, dessert, live entertainment, auctions are all expected at IMAGINE, the Northern Virginia AIDS Ministry’s (NOVAM) signature annual fundraiser, this weekend. Last year, the faith-based organization that works to educate the community about HIV/AIDS while providing direct services to those who are living with HIV/AIDS in the region, raised over $170,000 during IMAGINE, according to a NOVAM press release, and organizers are hoping to find similar success during this year’s event. IMAGINE raises money to support the agency’s HIV prevention education programs, and services, with an event that offers entertainment.

NOVAM is also looking forward to introducing guests at the gala to its new executive director, Carol G. Jameson.

”Her perspective on the region and how HIV/AIDS has affected this community is [focused],” says Regan Davis, a special events consultant for NOVAM. ”She lives in this community, she’s worked in this community, and she has a very realistic approach on how to run the programs and what direction we need to go to, in order to make a difference in this community.”

Tickets to attend the gala cost $35 each. IMAGINE is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m., at the Torpedo Factory, 105 N Union St., Alexandria. For more information visit
