Michele Kennedy at the Folger Consort tonight

The Folger Consort performs music by Francesca Caccini, one of the guiding spirits behind the revolutionary music of the earliest operas and solos from the Baroque era. In fact, Caccini wrote La Liberazione di Ruggiero, the first opera by a woman and dating to 1625. Soprano Michele Kennedy joins the Consort along with harpsichordist Joseph Gascho and violinist Risa Browder. Today, Saturday, March 17, at 5 and 8 p.m. Also Sunday, March 18, at 2 p.m. Folger Theatre, 201 East Capitol St. SE. Tickets are $35. Call 202-544-7077 or visit folger.edu.
