Tickets are still available for Madonna’s Monday night show at the Verizon Center.

Madonna in concert

In his review of the North American debut of Madonna’s MDNA Tour in Philadelphia, Metro Weekly’s Yusef Najafi noted that the visuals were stunning, but the acoustics left much to be desired. “At times the volume level of Madonna’s vocals were so loud you’d give anything for her to revert to lip-synching,” he wrote. “She yells, not sings, most of the songs in the set. The MDNA Tour was made for massive stadiums like Yankee Stadium, and when it’s executed in indoor venues … earplugs might be in order.” But the show is a summation of Madonna’s career, he goes on to say, from violently questioning the confinements of her religious upbringing to promoting self-expression to celebrating life, love and dance music. So then, if she’s too loud for you, she might retort, you can eff off. Tickets are still available for the show on Monday, Sept. 24, at 8 p.m. Verizon Center, 601 F St. NW.
