Like a comet that burned too brightly to last, Janis Joplin exploded onto the music scene in 1967 and, almost overnight, became the queen of rock and roll. Now, audiences are invited to share an evening with Janis and her musical influences in the hit musical "A Night With Janis Joplin". Janis Joplin had an unmistakable voice, filled with raw emotion and tinged with Southern comfort. It was a voice that made her a must-see headliner from Monterey to Woodstock. With a canon of unforgettable songs, such as “Me and Bobby McGee,” “Piece of My Heart,” “Mercedes Benz,” “Cry Baby” and “Summertime,” Janis Joplin performed the music that defined a generation. Fueled by these amazing songs, "A Night With Janis Joplin" is a sensational show that invites audiences to share an evening with Janis and celebrate her biggest musical influences, like Aretha Franklin, Etta James, Odetta, Nina Simone and Bessie Smith. These are the women who inspired one of rock and roll’s greatest legends. "A Night With Janis Joplin" is a musical that’s staged like a rock concert that you never want to end. "The New York Times" raved that "A Night With Janis Joplin" “rocks the house.” Mary Bridget Davies, a Tony Award nominee for the leading role of Joplin, will reprise the title role once again for the evening performance only of this electric production. (Francesca Ferrari will play the role at the matinee.) [less-]

Alan Parsons has received a large number of awards, including 11 Grammy nominations, The Les Paul Award in 1995 and The Diva Hall Of Fame Lifetime Achievement Award in Munich, Germany in June 2012. He is also in demand as a public speaker for events such as the 2014 Audio Engineering Society Convention in Los Angeles and the TEDx Conejo conference in California in April 2012. In 1975, Parsons met Eric Woolfson, who not only became his manager, but joined forces with Parsons as a songwriting and performing partner for what became known as The Alan Parsons Project. With his long-standing collaborators, guitarist Ian Bairnson, drummer Stuart Elliott and orchestral arranger Andrew Powell, Alan dropped the “Project” identity for Alan Parsons’ “Try Anything Once” in 1994, and, later, the first incarnation of “Alan Parsons Live Project” toured to sell out audiences throughout the globe. One of the most familiar Project tracks is “Sirius,” perhaps best known as the Chicago Bulls theme. It was also used as the walk-on music for The New Orleans Saints at their triumphant Super Bowl game in 2010 and at the 2012 European Cup soccer matches. The current Alan Parsons Live Project band consists of Alan on acoustic guitar, keyboards and vocals, P.J. Olsson on vocals, Tom Brooks on keyboards, Guy Erez on bass, Jeff Kollman on guitar and vocals, Danny Thompson on Drums, Todd Cooper on sax, percussion and vocals, Dan Tracey on guitar and vocals and Tyson Montgomery Leonard on violin. Meet Spinosaurus, the largest predatory dinosaur yet discovered—larger than T. rex—and hear the incredible story of how this prehistoric giant was almost lost to science, before being uncovered again with the help of paleontologist Nizar Ibrahim. Originally discovered in Morocco more than half a century ago by German paleontologist Ernst Stromer, Spinosaurus’ fossil remains were lost in the Allied bombing of Germany during World War II. But recent fossil discoveries in the desert, along with Stromer’s own data and drawings, helped Ibrahim and contemporary scientists reconstruct a full skeletal model of Spinosaurus, which has been featured on the National Geographic Channel and presented in the National Geographic Museum. With amazing video recreating the lost world of the Cretaceous-era Sahara, Ibrahim will tell the story of Spinosaurus’ discovery, loss, and rediscovery, and explain what—other than its size—makes this ancient monster unique. Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr. come back to life -- as crooning zombies -- in "The Rat Pack Undead", the NYC Halloween hit coming to Savini's Pomodoro in Woonsocket for one ghoulishly fun night this Halloween season. You'll no doubt dig these classic tunes, risen fresh from the grave and given a comically creepy twist, including "Come Die With Me," "Get Me to the Crypt on Time," "What Kind of Ghoul Am I?" and more, as the still-swinging trio of Ol' Blue Eyes, Dino and the Candy Man sing, dance and lurch about the restaurant for a thoroughly entertaining show critics have raved "blew them away" and "left them wanting more."
