Metro Weekly

Clarification

In the May 28, 2009, issue of Metro Weekly, Jake Nodar, interviewed for the feature “Out in the Wild,” stated that he believed himself to be the first openly gay man featured on a Discovery Channel program (Out of the Wild: The Alaska Experiment). That distinction, however, belongs to longtime gay activist Rodger McFarlane, who died May 15, and appeared on the 1998 season of Eco-Challenge Morocco on the Discovery Channel.
