Skype Video Chat: Phil Hartnoll of Orbital

Phil Hartnoll

On April 19, I was fortunate to interview Phil Hartnoll of the pioneering electronica band, Orbital. He was in his home in England, me in my office. (The painting behind him was done by his wife, and he was bathed in an odd purple glow, but no matter.) The half-hour interview was recorded via the wonders of Skype and, though the video really isn’t of great quality, we thought it engaging enough to run in full, as Orbital has just released its first album in 8 years and followed it with three incredibly arresting, slightly unsettling videos.

So we give you what will become the first in an ongoing series with musicians: A Soundwaves Skype Chat, Uncut and Unedited (mostly).
