Mission: AGLA offers a variety of social, political and community service activities to bring gays and lesbians in Arlington together in a positive, supportive and fun environment.

Background: When AGLA president Kris McLaughlin went to her first meeting she was immediately impressed with the diversity of the members and the variety of activities the group puts together. “There is something for everyone, from sports to arts,” she says, adding that this is no fair-weather group, either. Despite the pouring rain for the last two years, the group has had a phenomenal turnout for their annual post-pride picnic. “AGLA people like to socialize despite the weather,” says McLaughlin.
