Hundreds of families are expected to gather on the South Lawn of the White House on Monday, April 9, for the annual Easter Egg Roll, and the Family Pride Coalition is asking gay families to participate.
”We believe that by participating fully and openly in time honored traditions like the Egg Roll we can help the American public come to know our families,” reads a press release on behalf of Family Pride.

”Last year’s Egg Roll was an amazing time and, for one weekend, this country was introduced to our families on a grand scale. And in addition to educating people about our lives, we had a great time rolling eggs, meeting amazing children’s characters and participating in a wonderful family celebration.”
The National Park Service plans to distribute free tickets for the event on a first-come, first-serve basis, starting at 7:30 a.m., on Saturday, April 7. More information is available at the Family Pride Web site, www.familypride.org.
