Celebrating Marriage Equality [video]

D.C. Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton throws a celebration on Capitol Hill to mark the enactment of the city' marriage equality law

Counting down the minutes until D.C. marriage equality legislation became law, D.C. Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton (D) threw a celebratory party in the Rayburn House Office Building. On hand were D.C. Councilmembers David Catania (I-At Large), who introduced and shepherded the legislation through the D.C. Council, and Phil Mendelson (D-At Large).

As couples who plan to be legally wed under the District’s new law looked on, the Gay Men’s Chorus performed a selection of songs.
